Tracy Mallon

Training & Accreditation

Tracy is an IACP accredited Psychotherapist. She initially trained for a higher dip. in Social Care in 1995. Spent two years in St Patrick’s Primary Teacher training B.Ed. in 1999 and has a BSc. and Dip. in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Tracy has further training in Trauma Recovery, and as an Emotionally Focused Couples, Relationship, and Family Therapist and is undertaking the MSc. in Adolescent Psychotherapy currently. A presenter, who has spoken on a variety of topics, including parenting, relationships, self-care, wellbeing, and other mental health related issues. Tracy is a qualified Mindfulness Trainer for all ages.

Approach

“The nature of my work is one of authentic and compassionate relationship. With a strong influence from Dr. Susan Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), my approach is person-centred and integrative, also drawing on several other forms of therapy such as Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I also bring a wide knowledge of current neuroscience research in the workings of our brain, mind, heart and body connections.”

Tracy believes that while we know we can be hurt in relationship; she is passionate about our proven ability to heal in relationship.

Experience & Areas of Interest

Tracy works with individuals, couples and families and has special interests in neurodiversity, mental illness, anger management, PTSD/CPTSD, issues related to childhood trauma/abuse, family estrangement and sexual trauma. She has specialised training in the areas of Neuroscience, Relational Trauma, Anxiety/Stress management, Suicide Intervention, CBT and Mindfulness based therapy.
