Insight Matters was founded by social entrepreneurs Anne Marie Toole and Dil Wickremasinghe in 2011 to provide affordable, inclusive and culturally sensitive psychotherapy and counselling services in three centres in Dublin North, South and city centre.
Since Insight Matters opened its doors in 2011 it has been our vision to create a refreshing therapeutic space in Dublin city centre, one that would offer its therapists and clients a place to engage in working towards wellness and recovery.
In 2013 we expanded our practice and moved to bigger city centre offices located directly opposite the Gate Theatre and the Garden of Remembrance. We successfully created three outstanding therapy rooms, the Amethyst, Suriya and Chrysalis rooms which are currently facilitating the work of 14 practitioners.
In addition to our therapeutic rooms we have long wished to create a functional space that could accommodate a seminar for 40 plus people whilst radiating warmth that would welcome a yoga, meditation or mindfulness class.
We are proud to announce that in April 2014 just over a year after opening the doors of our new centre we have now expanded to include the Ayubowan Meeting Room which can accommodate a seminar of 40 plus people and also facilitate mat work for 12-14 people.
In addition to providing counselling and psychotherapy, we now offer personal development courses in the areas of assertiveness, communication skills, self-esteem building, mental health awareness, yoga classes and many others.
Insight Matters was founded by social entrepreneurs and since its inception it has been a social enterprise – a business created to further a social purpose in a financially sustainable way.
Therapy shouldn’t cost the earth so at Insight Matters we provide mental health support services to suit all budgets.
Insight Matters was created to address the lack of inclusive mental health services in Ireland. Diverse sexualities, gender identities, ethnicities, cultures and life experiences are rarely accommodated in a therapeutic space mainly because of lack of awareness. Our services reflect our new diverse Ireland and our practitioners are skilled to welcome and work with all the rich diversity of human behaviours.
At Insight Matters we are not afraid to dream big! Yes, we want to aid and support your inward journey towards self-discovery, self-acceptance and well-being but we also want to encourage you to see that life is much bigger than you.
The key to good mental health is self-awareness and realizing that the meaning of life is to live a life of meaning.
We believe that at the very heart of our mental health recovery lies the answer to many if not most of the worlds problems.
