Approach

Sex Therapy – As a sex therapist, Aine works with a broad range of sexual issues, concerns and problems. She works with both single and partnered, heterosexual and gay people. In her sessions Aine aims to facilitate better understanding of sexual problems her client’s may experience, decrease the distress that these issues may cause within personal life and relationships, and alleviate the sexual difficulty itself.

Specific sexual issues include erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, vaginismus and dyspareunia (painful intercourse), difficulties and differences in sexual desire, inability to reach orgasm and intimacy issues. She also works with individuals who have concerns around their use of pornography, with sexual compulsivity and addiction, and with cross dressing.

Seeking help for a sexual problem can feel like a difficult step to take as our sexual lives are personal and private.

Aine is comfortable discussing all aspects of sexuality, sexual behaviour and orientation in an open, safe and respectful way.

Psychotherapy – As a psychotherapist, Aine is experienced in working with many different issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, sexual abuse, and family dynamic issues. She has particular experience working with gender identity, gender exploration, sexual violence and trauma issues. As an integrative therapist she can draw on a number of approaches which can be tailored to suit individual’s needs.

Couples Therapy – Aine is also an experienced and qualified couples therapist. She works with same sex couples, couples of opposite sex and non-traditional relationships.
