Training & Accreditation
Over the course of her earlier career as a Teacher and HSCL (Home School Community Liaison) Darina’s work with both children and adults inspired her to pursue a career in Psychotherapy. She embarked on a two-year Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, followed by a Certificate in Jungian Studies, a Diploma in Consciousness Studies, before completing a further two-year Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy.
Approach
“My training is primarily Humanistic-Integrative which considers the whole person and draws on different therapeutic models depending on the particular needs of each client. I believe that each person has a unique contribution to make which can imbue one’s life with meaning. However, when we have been negatively influenced by early life experiences, trauma, or lack of sufficient support at key stages of development, a healthy sense of self can be challenged, forgotten, or even lost. The therapeutic relationship enables the processing of blocks that prevent us from living life fully and realising our potential.”
“Who looks outside, dreams;
Who looks inside, awakes”

Experience & Areas of Interest
The integrative focus of Darina’s training enables her to draw on a variety of therapeutic models including Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Her personal approach is influenced by the Analytical Psychology of C.G. Jung which considers the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of our being, and values the role of dreamwork and creativity in bringing unconscious material to conscious awareness. Most importantly, Darina offers a person-centered therapy in which the needs and goals of the client guide the therapeutic process as it unfolds.
