Ronan Tiernan

Training & Accreditation

I am an experienced and professionally qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. I hold a degree in counselling and psychotherapy from Dublin Business School and as an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I adhere to their Code of Ethics which supports High Professional Standards.

Approach

I work from an integrative approach which means I draw on different therapeutic models, including psychodynamic, person-centred, relational and behavioural. I offer a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore the issues you are facing. You may want to discuss a current situation at home or in work which is bothering you. You might be feeling overwhelmed with simple day to day tasks. You may have difficulty is forming and maintaining relationships. Or you could be unable to let go of something from your past. These issues and many more can be worked through in therapy and that is where I can help. I will try to help you deal with whatever dilemmas you may want to understand.

Experience & Areas of Interest

I work with a broad range of issues including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, family and relationship issues and phobias. I also worked part time in The Rutland Centre so I am experienced in dealing with addictions such as alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling disorders, sex and love addiction and eating disorders.
