Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Linda Wilkinson. I am a qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I hold an honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by Middlesex University, a Diploma in Traumatology from City Colleges and have completed training in applied suicide intervention skills. I have a keen interest in psychoanalysis and am a member of the Kleinian Association of Ireland, a psychoanalytic focussed association where I attend regular lectures. I am currently a pre-accredited member of the IACP and adhere to its professional code of ethics. I have worked for four years with Fatima Groups United providing low cost counselling for the local community where I have gained valuable experience.
My journey to where I am today began 20 years ago when I experienced multiple losses over a short period of time. I went down many roads to find answers and heal the pain I was going through with little success. After much searching, it was suggested to me to talk to a counsellor. This was one of the hardest but best decisions I ever made. Eventually I found someone who I felt understood what I was going through and helped me to gain a deeper understanding of myself. It was and still is a deeply enriching and worthwhile journey.
With an innate curiosity to understand the human experience and a desire to learn more I embarked on a four year degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My hope is to offer a safe, empathic and non-judgemental space for others to work through the challenges they may be experiencing.
