Insight Matters offer individual counselling and psychotherapy and relationship counselling to members of the LGBTQ community in addition to facilitated personal development groups

We provide a skilled and confidential service to individuals and couples of all genders and all sexual orientations.

Individuals at any point in their lives experience depression, stress, anxiety and any number of difficult accompanying emotions.  Yet, for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, these issues are magnified and exacerbated through stigma, homophobic pressures, uncertainty of identity and repression of difficult feelings, linked to struggle with sexuality.

Sexual identify informs how we feel about ourselves to a much larger extent than most of us realise.  When we live and love in accordance with our sexuality, we enable ourselves to live more freely and expressively, thereby creating a greater sense of well-being and self-esteem within us.

However for many sexual identity remains hidden and under-explored through fear of criticism and rejection, homophobic responses and second class treatment in the workplace. This in turn affects our mood, our desire to socialise and engage more fully with family, friends and work colleagues, often bringing about a painful and difficult isolation.
