Brian Gilbert, BA Hons. Counselling and Psychotherapy, Cert. Counselling and Psychotherapy

Brian holds a Hons degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School and a certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College.

Brian works from a person centered integrative approach, whilst also drawing on the Psychodynamic theory which explores how our past experiences and patterns of behaviour influence our relationships and behaviour in the here and now.Brian is a member of the IACP and adheres to their code of ethics

Brian is a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and has trained to instructor level in Group crisis intervention and Assisting Individuals in Crisis. He also holds a Nqemt in Paramedicine from RCSI and has completed the ASSIST programme in suicide prevention. Brian is also a co-founder of the charity, Gravity Autism Support which provides support for children with Autism and their families.

Brian’s Paramedic background has influenced a keen interest in the traumatic experiences of an individual and the effect on their psychological well-being. As well as trauma and PTS, Brian’s areas of interest include Anxiety issues, Loss Grief, Sexuality issues, Relationships, Low Self-Esteem and working with parents of children with a diagnosis of ASD.
