Amy holds an honors degree in counseling and psychotherapy from the Institute of Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy (IICP). She has worked effectively with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, depression, anger issues, trauma & PTSD, sexual issues, eating disorders, bereavement and gender identity.
‘I care deeply about the well-being of others and have always been passionate about helping people. I strongly believe in the resilience of the human spirit and one’s capability to create a sense of autonomy and empowerment in order to contend with whatever life challenges they encounter.
I work from an integrative perspective which means I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” method, rather I use several different therapeutic modalities, including Humanistic, Choice Theory, Existential, psychodynamic and CBT. This allows me to work collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths and preferences in order to find a therapeutic style that suits the individual.’
